It’s a Date (with Destiny)

“In person, he won’t seem that intimidating,” my daughter said about Tony Robbins. “Did you notice that they put the camera low so he looks taller?”

This week I’m taking a break from my work and from my usual form of self-help (Landmark Education) and flying for a 6-day intensive course with Tony Robbins, called Date with Destiny. The sales guy on the phone described it to me as “rewiring your brain.” Somehow, when he said it, that sounded like a good thing. Now that I’m 72 hours away from it, it seems like only someone who needs brain re-wiring would agree to such a thing.

In fact, I’m finding I’m quite nervous all of a sudden. So are some of my customers.

“I wish you realize all of what you want in the course,” said one of my favorite clients, “except for changing profession until after our product launch.”

Don’t worry. We’ve got a great lineup of new packages for mobile marketing, start-up marketing, and content marketing planned for 2013. It’s expected that I’ll need to keep making a living in the foreseeable future. You’ll be the first to know if I change my mind. (Ok, that’s a big fat lie. You’ll be the last to know. I mean, duh. You don’t expect me to tell “everybody” before I tell my boss, do you?)

In any case, this is the bottom line:

I’m out of the office for 10 days. I’m going to have an awesome time. I’ll tell you all about it when I get back.
